Who publishes this
What this is
Precious Handyman is an independent publication, not a media company. It runs on a sources ledger and a standing rule: a claim without a citation gets rewritten or cut.
This is not the old site
From about 2020 to 2022, this domain hosted an affiliate review blog — "top 5" product roundups with store links. That site is gone, its owner is not involved here, and none of its text has been reused. The current site is a fresh publication under new ownership that happens to live at the same address. If you arrived from an old link, the address you followed either now holds a new guide on the same subject or points you to the closest thing we actually cover.
We review nothing we don't have evidence for
We do not run a test lab. Nobody here will tell you how a tool felt in the hand, how it held up over six months, or how it performed in a torture test we never ran — because we didn't do those things, and writing as if we did would be a lie. What we do instead is audit the published record: manufacturer spec sheets, binding safety standards, and independent testing by named organizations and reviewers, each cited where the claim appears. Where the published record is thin, the guide says so out loud in a "what the evidence doesn't cover" section rather than papering over the gap. The full method is on How We Source.
